I’m a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Innovation and a minor in Theater focusing on film directing, stagecraft & lighting, and content editing. In my past life, I was a nuclear power plant operator and licensed/certified Reactor Operator/Electronics Technician. So, color me pink that my journalism degree is classified as a STEM degree. Most recently, at the end of September 2024, I made some world medical history by undergoing a double lung transplant at UW Madison. It’s one of the most difficult surgeries to perform and was done using surgical frontier techniques.

I’ve always had a knack for both vertical and horizontal thinking, allowing me to do well in both a nuclear propulsion plant environment and pursue innovation fields. Over the last six years, I’ve been able to put both backgrounds to work as a product manager, product creator, and UX design manager for a nonprofit organization based out of Texas that does social welfare lobby work. This has allowed me to take on creative projects and come up with unique strategies to address local versus statewide issues, on both a macro and micro scale for each. The best part of it all is that I could love the work that I do with media, as the work I do would be hobbies or dreams for many other people. I’ve had the privilege to interview and meet some of the most pivotal figures in modern cannabis history to include Cheech and Chong, Steve and Andrew DeAngelo, Dan Herrer Jr., and many others.

Over this past decade plus I have developed a varied skill set with electronic design, front and backend web development, FTP usage, media design and illustration, advanced social media analytics, UX design, video capturing Adobe Creative Cloud apps, text editors, Microsoft Office 365, Figma, Canva, a few AI based applications both as standalone apps and web based, along with other hardware and software.
