About Jesse Williams

I’m a Product Designer focused on marketplace discovery, engagement systems, and mobile-first digital platforms. My work explores how people find opportunity, content, and community through structured experience design and scalable interaction systems. My background spans safety-critical engineering environments, digital media production, and regulated platform ecosystems. Operating nuclear propulsion systems in the Navy shaped how I think about risk, precision, and operational reliability. Managing digital platforms in policy-driven industries sharpened my understanding of trust, accessibility, and user friction.

For the past seven years, I’ve worked closely within the cannabis policy and media landscape, collaborating with stakeholders across advocacy, business, and legislative environments. That experience has given me firsthand insight into how regulated marketplaces evolve — and how platform design must account for compliance constraints, shifting policy frameworks, and consumer trust in emerging industries.

I’m particularly interested in discovery architecture — how search, personalization, and behavioral sequencing influence user engagement. Whether designing portfolio-first marketplaces or refining regulated content ecosystems, I approach problems as systems: balancing user psychology, infrastructure constraints, and long-term scalability. Across my work, I operate end-to-end — from concept modeling and interaction design through execution, iteration, and publication. I value clarity, intentionality, and measurable impact over surface-level aesthetics.

When I’m not designing platforms, I’m spending time with my wife and son in Southwest Austin.
