Week of 9/10/2022

This week I am still waiting on a piece of computing equipment to arrive so that I can attempt to process video and graphics faster.

I have my first online podcast since I last did one before attending the convention in Nashville, TN. Felt a bit rusty, but got back into the swing of things quickly with the backend of Streamyard. This does mean though that the task again is editing video to eliminate long pauses that my co-host takes. As well, it means working on finding a great segment of the podcast to turn into a short excerpt to promote on social media. Youtube shorts is our big gain right now with some of one of the shorts put out this week getting over seven thousand views and earning the channel and additional 60 hours of watch time.

With Youtube, it will be fiddling and toying around with what works and with what does not work. Part of my time outside of creating material will be watching tutorials on how to make the material better suited for Youtube and draw in a bigger audience.

It’s likely that in the coming weeks I will be putting together some analytics reports and rate cards for my organization. We already have some made up but it is definitely time to update them for a new year. We have legislative session coming up which means that there will be more eyes on our site and costs will increase. We may have to look into a dedicated server, which I can manage the basics of it, will mean a giant increase in cost.

I have on average 1 show a week until October and then we have some weeks where we may have two shows. I know for sure there is 1 week already with 2 shows booked.
